Problem and use case
Trumpet connects with CRMs to make their customers’ lives easier by enriching data and sending engagement analytics and deal signals back to the CRM, providing valuable insights into deal progress.
When they came to us, they had a number of customers who wanted to use Trumpet but couldn’t due to the lack of a Microsoft Dynamics CRM integration.
Their first instinct was to research the Microsoft Dynamics API, which is notoriously difficult to understand and navigate for API operations. It took their team several days to try to find the right approach, and when they realized how time-consuming it would be, they started looking for a third-party solution.
Sam, their Head of Engineering, initially evaluated several solutions: Apideck, Merge.dev, and Supaglue—but none of them worked the way they needed:
- Every customer information pull had to be manually extracted from the platform (not programmatically)
- It was difficult to handle custom fields unless you used the passthrough API
Why Membrane
When we spoke with Sam, we guided him through our personalized onboarding process and ensured he could implement the Microsoft Dynamics integration seamlessly:
- The SDK was very easy and convenient to integrate
- Provided the fastest way among all platforms to access deal data in CRMs
- Offered supportive 24/7 Slack support throughout the process
Features powered by Membrane
Trumpet used Membrane’s out-of the-box UI for creating a connection interface that displays to users the first time they connect their Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Once users enter their login credentials, they can import deal data from their Microsoft Dynamics CRM and create new Pods or update existing ones with the relevant fields (Value, Team, Company).
Trumpet users will now see all updates from their Pods in their CRM, including Notes (such as when the Pod was created, opened, or any engagement occurred) and the Contacts associated with that deal.

What are the benefits for Trumpet?
Beyond building the Dynamics integration, Trumpet has already realized significant value:
- Converted new customers thanks to the Microsoft Dynamics integration support, increasing their Q1 ‘24 revenue pipeline
- Decreased time to market for any new integration releases by implementing the Membrane infrastructure
What’s next?
Trumpet is one of the fastest-growing startups in the sales stack space. Having seen how easy it was to create an integration using Membrane, they’re looking to expand with additional integrations, starting with Microsoft SharePoint and several others.
We’re excited to continue working with their team as they expand their integration use cases.
